Big Labor’s Expense for Election Foot Soldiers is Finally in Media Spotlight!

Over the past two years, during radio programs and on television, through my online blog, and through the publication of two books, I have repeatedly attempted to expose the fact that the Big Labor bosses are desperate and are utilizing much more than political donations to assure election of politicians who will assist in saving them from extinction. In fact, many times the theme, “When Will Congress and the Main Stream Media Wake Up?” has appeared in my blogs. It appears that finally some of the mainstream media has decided to expose that Political Spending by Unions Far Exceeds Direct Donations and it truly is Big Labor, Big Money. Credit earned is credit due. Last week, FOX News Corporation and the Wall Street Journal stepped up and exposed the extravagant spending of Big Labor bosses at the expense of the rank and file members. They also brought to light the coercion utilized by Big Labor bosses to impact elections at all levels of government through funding of their intimidating foot soldiers to the tune of four times actual political donations over the past several years.

The WSJ article reported that Big Labor contributed $1.1 Billion from 2005 through 2011 to political campaigns. However, during the same time period, Big Labor spent $3.3 Billion on political activity. In other words they spent $3.3 Billion utilizing foot soldiers to register people to vote, and then get them to polls to vote for the candidates Big Labor endorses. In addition Fox News reports Big Labor bosses from all major and some smaller unions are spending membership dues money on lavish trips and meetings as well as buying hotels, golf courses and other facilities with member’s dues (see Big Labor Spending – Part 2). Interestingly enough, in these articles it is noticeable that the SEIU Stays Below the Radar. This is likely a result of the SEIU’s Persuasion of Power against businesses and news outlets alike.

SEIU Exposed recounts the story of “Mariam the Mighty,” an SEIU member in California, and her valiant efforts to fight for members’ rights. Recently, she won a court order requiring the SEIU to open up their books so she and other SEIU members can see where their membership dues are being spent (see California SEIU Members Score Multiple Victories Over “SEIU 1%” ). The SEIU is not the only union under attack by its members. The “Union Conservatives” are a group of rank and file UAW members in Michigan led by Terry Bowman that are tired of Big Labor Union bosses using their money to elect liberal politicians and are now pushing a Right-To-Work bill in Michigan. It is apparent that Union Members are Not Happy with Their Leader’s Political Spending. It is also abundantly apparent that, “To force a man to furnish contributions of money towards the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves, is both sinful and tyrannical.”  However, Obama and his Big Labor cronies simply disagree. They are desperate and “desperate people do desperate things.” My first book dealing with this, based on my own experiences battling the SEIU, The Devil at Our Doorstep, addresses this matter as follows:

The unions need money, and they need it fast so that they can support the reelection campaign of our current president. Simply put, he cannot win without that money and the foot soldiers unions provide to affect political voting decisions across this great country of ours. His foot soldiers in this quest are the unions; more specifically, many of them are unsuspecting members, ones easily influenced by a disingenuous White House politician who consistently preaches that government involvement in people’s lives is the answer to all of our problems.

Key to the president’s program is, plain and simple, increased union membership. Such an increase will result in more foot soldiers, more union dues, and more union money to aid his 2012 reelection campaign. Required is the establishment of an environment in which this may occur. Such legislation and other left-wing antics toward forced organization caused Will Collins to scold Big Labor in his National Review blog. He wrote the following:

“Lacking the evolutionary finesse that keeps most parasites from killing their host organisms, the American labor movement has driven the private firms that once employed its members offshore or into bankruptcy. Consequently, the only growth market remaining for the union movement is government: More union members today are employed by government than by the private sector. The union bosses, being neither blind nor stupid, see the advantages of sitting on both sides of the negotiating table, and their influence on politics has been predictably baleful. Unfortunately for those who would curtail their influence, they enjoy a steady stream of cash, expropriated from the paychecks of their members, and a ready supply of foot soldiers available for get-out-the-vote and rent-a-mob duties.”

If you don’t believe that this is happening in the 2012 election, then simply review the 2010 Election and Senator Harry Reid’s come from behind victory in Nevada, as chronicled in Fraudsters the Reason Blue States Remained Blue. Senator Reid was reportedly 4-6% behind in the polls entering Election Day and yet pulled out a comfortable victory (see Explaining The Harry Reid Victory and Tea Party Loss in Nevada). Americans can expect the same type tactics utilized in 2010 by the Campaign’s Big Spender, Big Labor, to resurface as Election Day approaches. It would be foolish to believe otherwise. All this, despite the fact the Obama Campaign rails for transparency and passage of the “Disclose Act” recently defeated in the Senate (see Republicans Block Bill on Transparency) in an effort to counter the 2010 Supreme Court’s “Citizens United” decision allowing corporations to donate to PAC’s. The disingenuous part of Obama’s claims are that Big Labor has reportedly committed $400,000,000 to Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

Don’t buy into the ruse that the “Citizens United” case created an unfair playing field for Republicans. It is time to expose the fact that it merely evened a playing field that Big Labor had been exploiting for years, at the expense of membership dues.  In fact in 2011 alone the SEIU Political Spending amounted to $ 54,478,912 in an off election year, yet the President still plays the poor me card as witnessed by the July 31, 2012 e-mail below.

“Friend –

Sometimes politics can seem very small.

But the choice voters face in this election couldn’t be bigger.

Over the past two months, we have been outraised by our opponents. They’ve used that advantage to distort the truth and mislead people, over and over, on TV and the radio in battleground states. Tonight is one of the most critical fundraising deadlines we’ll face. If we win this election, it will be because of what you did in moments like this to close the gap.

Please make a donation of $3 or more right now: https://donate.barackobama.com/Deadline-Midnight

Thank you.

Barack”

Now is the time for all Americans to realize that Big Labor is controlling the Democrats 2012 Election Campaign. The final three months of the campaign will be like Big Labor’s Scorched Earth Campaign in Ohio  in 2011 as it will utilize its infamous Corporate Campaign tactics of Death by a Thousand Cuts. Membership dues will be misused to fund Big Labor’s foots soldiers and an intimidating ground game as once again, Big Labor Bosses Demonstrate Why RTW is Necessary – Shame on Them.

Kudos to the media for exposing Big Labor’s misuse of its membership’s money for political purposes. Now, Mitt Romney and the Republican Party must quickly learn the Lessons from the Wisconsin Recall if the President is to be denied a second term and the future of America, as envisioned by our forefathers, is to be saved.
