AB 938 requires the California Department of Education (CDE) to update a salary and benefit schedule form for classified school staff as is collected for certificated staff, like teachers. Once the data is gathered, then there is pressure on the local school districts to report to the legislature on the district’s progress toward increasing the salaries for classified and certificated staff. This puts unsustainable pressures upon school districts to keep with a salary schedule that they already cannot maintain.
