In 2022, the California Dept. of Education delayed the release of the state’s student achievement test scores during election season to hide the damage that pandemic school closures had on student learning. SB 293 Requires the State Department of Education to make statewide summative California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) results publicly available by October 1 each year so parents and schools can best address student learning issues.
