SB 799 would make California one of only three states that grants unemployment benefits to striking workers. The union-backed bill would pay striking workers after they have been on strike for two weeks, and provide an incentive for unions to stay on strike longer. Lawmakers should not place this burden on California’s unemployment insurance program that is already tens of billions of dollars in debt, or ask overtaxed California businesses to foot the bill through even higher taxes, which will drive more businesses out of the Golden State
