California SEIU Members Score Multiple Victories Over “SEIU 1%”

Last week was a bad week for the SEIU Big Labor Bosses (or as Mariam the Mighty refers to them, the “SEIU 1%”). Mariam, whose fight against SEIU intimidation and misuse of membership dues is chronicled in <a href=”http://www.devilatourdoorstep.com/”>The Devil at Our Doorstep</a>, has firsthand knowledge of SEIU abuses. Mariam works for the State of California, and is an SEIU member who recently won a court case forcing the SEIU to allow her to audit its financial records in an attempt to expose the SEIU’s misuse of membership dues for non-germaine purposes, such as political contributions. Supporting the California court’s decision, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a 7-2 decision this past Thursday, affirming that adequate notice and opportunity to vote down fee increases for political purposes must be given, which in effect finds the <a href=”http://theunionnews.blogspot.com/2012/06/union-thug-financing-scheme-illegal.html?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+TheUnionNews+%28The+Union+News.%29″>Union Financing Scheme Illegal</a>.

That wasn’t the end of the bad news for the SEIU, however. 175 SEIU members at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister, California in effect decertified the SEIU in favor of the NUHW (National Union of Hospital Workers) citing the SEIU’s dishonesty and corruption. It may have been a bad week for the SEIU, but it was a great week for employees and employers around the country, as well as for the basic American right to freedom of choice.

Led by grassroots efforts of  union rank and file members across the country, America is waking up to the fact that today’s Big Labor bosses are nothing more than <a href=”http://devilatmydoorstep.wordpress.com/2010/11/12/gasping-dinosaurs-what-to-expect-from-a-dying-breed-following-the-2010-elections/”>Gasping Dinosaurs</a>, desperate to avoid extinction at the expense of American freedoms. Coast to coast we are witnessing <a href=”http://devilatmydoorstep.wordpress.com/2012/04/17/employees-push-back-against-seius-persuasion-of-power/”>Employees Push Back Against SEIU’s Persuasion of Power.</a> Brave heroes, in both the public and private sector — like Mariam in California, and Jairo Hernandez of Complete Cleaning in Massachusetts — are standing up against intimidation, abuse and misuse of membership dues. It is imperative their stories are not only heard, but resonate across this great country.

The SEIU is determined to force unionize as many employees as possible to avoid extinction. Their goal is always the same, whether it is using membership dues to elect corrupt politicians with whom they then negotiate sweetheart collective bargaining agreements or prosecuting <a href=”http://devilatmydoorstep.wordpress.com/2011/05/23/corporate-campaigns-vehicle-to-forced-unionism-and-political-payback/”>Corporate Campaigns</a> to force unsuspecting private businesses into signing a <a href=”http://devilatmydoorstep.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/neutrality-agreement.pdf”>Neutrality Agreement</a> that puts <a href=”http://devilatmydoorstep.wordpress.com/2011/01/21/card-check-through-regulation-vs-legislation-actions-speak-louder-than-words/”>Card Check</a>  into play. The SEIU truly exemplifies Big Labor’s Agenda: Taking away American Freedoms. When will Americans and the main stream media wake up to the fact this is Big Labor’s goal and it is supported by the Obama administration? If President Obama is re-elected, his administration (through <a href=”https://devilatmydoorstep.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/rule-by-fiat/”>Rule by Fiat</a>), will allow Big Labor to run roughshod over these brave employees and employers who dare to fight the socialist advance. It is time to support these brave souls who understand America’s very future is at risk.
