This bill would improve conditions for charter schools by extending the use indefinitely of the performance standards and procedures for the renewal of charter schools that would otherwise sunset on January 1, 2026. According to the California Charter Schools Association, the continued use of verified data will improve the quality of many charter renewal assessments, particularly in circumstances with incomplete information, leading to fairer outcomes for schools.
