John-Paul Lake | Board Director

John-Paul and Ingrid Lake are dedicated community and philanthropic leaders in Bakersfield, California where they established the SeedCore Foundation with four primary focus areas; supporting private school teachers through an innovative crowdfunding platform, scholarships for local high school graduates, fostering Kern County’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and grants for organizations that empower individuals to pursue purposeful living.

John-Paul is a Director and 4th generation shareholder at Rain for Rent, the leading provider of temporary liquid handling solutions where he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Currently, he is a managing partner and co-founder at Kern Venture Group, a boutique venture capital firm. He co-chaired the first capital campaign for California State University of Bakersfield, served as Executive Director of B3K Prosperity, a non-profit advancing Kern County’s mission to be the best place in California to start a business, and was twice elected as a Trustee for the Panama Buena-Vista Union School District.
