The week’s winner was Contessa Mendoza (The_barefoot_contessa14) for her clever and ironic double entendre of the word, “sign” in a photograph of a fitness center’s promotional sign and its Proposition 65 warning. Her entry also had the highest social impact score.

The marketing says, “Looking for a sign?” And right next to it is a sign warning that exercising in this gym can cause cancer and birth defects. Now we don’t have to worry just about sore muscles or athletic injuries at the gym, we now have to worry about cancer? I thought that working out was suppose to help prevent cancer and other diseases. And 24 Hour Fitness is one of the largest gyms Nationwide, so you better believe this affects many people. Why would our doctors tell us to work out for better health when the State of California says the equipment can cause cancer???? And birth defects??? My doctor encouraged me to work out during each pregnancy.
