This bill would require public schools to allow parents or guardians to opt their children out of any instruction or activity that references transgender topics, including any anonymous, voluntary, and confidential tests, questionnaires, or surveys related to them. The bill would prohibit schools from subjecting students to any disciplinary action, academic penalty, or other sanction for being excused from participation.
