Chantal Lovell | Communications Director


  • Chantal Lovell is California Policy Center’s Communications Director. In her role, Chantal works to elevate the work of CPC and its coalitions, particularly those built through the Parent Union and California Local Elected Officials. 

Prior to joining the CPC team, led nationwide labor reform and economic recovery projects at the State Policy Network, where she served as Director of Policy Strategy. She also worked as the communications manager at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy in Michigan, and as the Nevada Policy Research Institute’s communications director. In 2014, Chantal won the inaugural Great Communicators Tournament at the State Policy Network’s Annual Meeting for a speech she gave regarding the immorality of Medicaid expansion.

Before beginning her career in the liberty movement, she was a journalist in Redlands, California and the Napa Valley, where she received awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association for investigative reporting, economic reporting and features writing. 

Chantal, who was born and raised in Southern California, received a bachelors in Government from the University of Redlands and a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska.
